Trade Newspapers

Many trades and professions had their own newspaper or magazine.

Individual magazines are to many to list on this web page but they can provide a great source of information about your ancestor.

If  for example you find that your ancestor was a station master for Great Eastern Railways then a search for a source of trade magazines relating to Great Eastern Railways may well bring up references to your ancestor- perhaps a retirement , involvement in an incident or even an award for the best railway station garden!

What records can you find?

Old newspapers are usually fould in specialist museums relating to that trade.
