The History

From early times the Manor was the centre of most peoples lives and Manorial records are one of the best sources of information about Medieval times.

Sadly many of the Manorial records have been lost over the years.

What records can you find?

Some manorial records are held by the National Archives and some by the local County Records Office.

A manorial records register is maintained by the National Archives which identifies which records survive and where they are to be found.
