Since the passing of the Town and Country Planning Act in 1947 Local Authorities in England and Wales have been responsible for development control in their area.
For this reason they have built up information about landowners who apply for planning permission.
The information will include details of the applicant as well as detailed maps of any proposed changes to the area of land concerned.
In most cases these applications are public documents and can be viewed at the relevant local authority office.
