Iron Founders Records

The History

With the industrial revolution came the foundries where iron and other alloys were cast.

The Iron founders cast iron in every shape and strength imaginable.

What records can you find?

The modern records centre at Warwick University maintain the archives of trade union records including the various iron founders unions.

A personal visit or hiring a researcher would be required as the records are not yet online.

*

County Records Office and Local Museums both hold records of relevant firms and individuals.

Searches should be made firstly by the individual persons name, then by the firms name and lastly by the trade.
