Hospital Records

What records can you find?

Hospital records fall into two categories - Staff and patient.

For staff records please visit the relevant occupation page eg Nurse , Doctor etc.

Patient records are normally held by the County Records Office unless the Hospital has retained them.

Most hospitals that retain the records have a museum or records office.

Patient records are confidential and mostly comply with the 100 year rule.

To find out where the relevant patient records are held it is best to check first with the relevant County Records Office. If they don't hold the records they will be able to indicate where they are held.
