The History Hackney Carriages and London cabs were originally horsedrawn but with the availability of the motor car became mechanised. What records can you find? The modern records centre at Warwick University maintain the archives of trade union records including the various hackey carriage and cab workers unions. * County Records Office and Local Museums both hold records of relevant firms and individuals. Searches should be made firstly by the individual persons name, then by the firms name and lastly by the trade.
